The country’s golf spotlight will be focused on the hills of Pardo, Cebu City on May 21 to 24 as Alta Vista Golf and Country Club holds its annual signature event — The View Invitational 2015.
The tournament presented by MLanders Asia Management Services Inc. is expected to draw 400 players from Cebu, other parts of the Philippines and abroad.

The four-day, 36-hole tournament follows a member-guest format and will be using the Modified Stableford Scoring System. The scoring format awards one point for a net bogey, two for a net par, three for a net birdie, four for a net eagle, and five for a net ace and a net double-eagle.
There will also be prizes at stake for an ace on all five par-3 holes of the par-72 layout that features a rolling terrain.
A brandnew Foton Thunder 4×2 pick-up is at stake for an ace on hole No. 15. Aside from the pick-up, a Club Car golf cart, an Atmospheric Water Generator from San Gabriel Metal Arts, and a trip ticket from Marist Royal Holidays Travel and Tours are also at stake exclusively on this long par-3 hole.
On hole No. 8, Air Busan is giving a roundtrip ticket to Korea for a hole-in-one. Other hole-in-one prizes at stake on all holes are a Haojue motorcycle from Norkis Trading and first bet coupons from Pagcor,
In case more than one player wins a particular hole-in-one prize, such will be equally shared.
Island Paints is also offering Php 10,000 for every ace.
A Skygo motorcycle is also at stake for an eagle on any par-4 hole. The prize will also be equally shared in case of multiple winners.
Taiyo Yuden (Phils.) Inc. is also a chief backer of the tournament along with Cebu Mitsumi Inc., Empire Insurance, Kim Jun Chul of Apple Tree, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell, Stradcom, JPark Resort, and San Miguel Corporation.
The tournament requires the players to play two rounds during the four day period.
Prizes at stake will be for the overall lowest gross and a lowest net and the top three finishers of the three handicap categories.
There will also be prizes for the seniors’ division. To qualify for this category, no member of the team must be younger than 55 years old and their total age must not be less than 120 years.
There will also be a lowest gross and lowest net winner for the seniors’ category as well as prizes for the second and third best teams based on the net scores.
There is also a sponsors’ division for players of the sponsoring companies and individuals that do not have partners. The top three based on net scores will be given awards.
The plaques that are awarded to all winners of The View Invitational are specially-crafted for this tournament.
The lowest handicap index for the period of March, April and May 2015 will be used. Non-members of the club are required to submit their certificates for the period required if they are not registered in the Unified National Handicapping System (UNHS).
Also supporting the tournament are Lady Dragon Enterprises, AD Gothong, Cebu Bionic Builders, Bryan Chona/Cemex, Dranix Distributors, Island Paints, Oh Jung Hwan, Oriental Tin Can Manufacturing Corp., Park Jong eun, Noel Sadava, Ryosuke Sasahara, Security Bank, Roberto Suson, and Yoo Byung Koo.
The rest of the backers are Cebu City Marriott Hotel, Marco Polo Plaza Hotel, Profood International, Shaldan Phils., Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, Moevenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Shooters Arms and Manufacturing Corp.
In order to accommodate the huge turnout of participants, the shotgun tee off will be used for all four days. There will be two schedules each day, 6 a.m. and 12 noon.
Entry fee for those who would still like to join will be P4,000 per player. Each participant will be getting a specially-made luggage and strap.
The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at the Alta Vista ballroom.
