The annual tribute to the late sportsman and philanthropist will be held this Friday and Saturday (June 7 and 8) at the Cebu Country Club as the 12th Albino D. Gothong Memorial Tournament dubbed as the Amo Cup tees off.

This year, Barbara ‘Bambi’ Gothong-Tan, daughter of Albino, said that they are putting Php 1 million at stake for a hole-in-one.

The Amo Cup is a two-day, 18-hole tournament that uses the strokeplay format.

Entry fee for members of Cebu Country Club and Alta Vista Golf and Country Club is Php 2,500.  Those who would like to join the tournament, but are not members of any of the two clubs will be assessed Php 3,500.

All participants will get a Nike duffle bag as giveaway.  Aside from the bag, products from AD Gothong Manufacturing as well as corporate giveaways from FWD Insurance will also be given to all participants.

The participants of the tournament will each get a Nike duffle bag.

Slots are still available for the tournament and those interested can contact Donna at Cebu Country Club.

Aside from being a tribute to Amo, the tournament’s main aim is to raise funds for the Alpa Foundation, which is supporting various charitable activities including scholarships for underprivileged but deserving students.

The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday evening at the ballroom of Cebu Country Club with several appliances and gift certificates to be raffled off to the participants and specially-crafted trophies to be given to the winners.
