About 300 players from the football community of Cebu gathered last Sunday not only to play their favorite game, but also to support the effort to help the communities devastated by super typhoon Yolanda to rebuild their homes.

Leylam A topped the men’s division of the tournament beating sister team leylam B in the final of the Bangon Visayas Football Cup played at the Cebu International School (CIS) field in Pit-os, Cebu City.

The event was organized by Tanya Dominique Chica and an estimated 100 families will be receiving tool kits that would help them rebuild their homes destroyed by the storm that hit the country last November 8.  Each kit shall be composed of a hammer, saw and nails.

Third and fourth place in the men’s division went to Makoto FC and Erco FC.

A total of 20 teams saw action in the men’s division.

For the distaff side, Lemark FC bagged the title beating Convergys FC in the final match.  Third place went to Accenture FC while Survey Sampling Incorporated FC completed the top four.

Incidentally, Chica, the organizer, also celebrated her birthday last Sunday.
