Neil Howard bagged the overall title in last Friday’s 2nd Shepherd’s Cup played at the par-72 Cebu Country Club.

Howard fired a net score of three-under-par 69 off a gross 76 in the system-36 format to bag the overall title of the 18-hole contest, which was held to raise funds for radio programs of the Archdiocese of Cebu, which are aired over radio station dyRF.

The division A title went to Airon Sorino, who also finished with a net score of 69 strokes.  First runner-up was Gabriel Yap, Jr. with a net score of 70 beating Alex Yeo, Jufil Sato, and Ariel Mangana in the countback.

Yeo settled for the second runner-up honors after winning in another countback.

The division B title went to Henry Dy with a net score of 72 off a gross score of 94 strokes beating Gerry Gollon and Eugene Espedido in the countback.

Gollon took the first runner-up honors while Espedido settled for the second runner-up trophy.

The division C title went to Alfredo Tan with a net score of 74 strokes off a gross 103.  First runner-up was Eric Sendrijas with a net score of 75 while Marcelino Po edged Frederick Chiong in the countback to finish as second runner-up.

The event, which was organized by Fr. Bobby Ebisa offered a Hyundai Accent as hole-in-one prize.

The title for the ladies division went to Angela Mangana, who fired a net score of 70 strokes off a gross 75.  Runner-up honors went to Dumaguete-based Tess Magazzine with a net score of 71.

A total of 134 players took part in the event, which had Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma hitting the ceremonial drive.
