The Go Active Marketing & Events Inc. (GAME Inc.) launched its first event, the Duraman Duathlon in Toledo City, Wednesday at the Azia Hotel & Residences.
GAME Inc. is comprised of Jerome Mil, Benjoe Gimenez, Conrad “Bas” Ceballos, Claudette Manus, Ricky Simbajon and Annette Jakosalem with multi-awarded adventure racer Leo Oracion, who is now based in Switzerland, as consultant.
The group’s members are not actually new to organizing sporting events as they have done many in the past but the Duraman will be its first as GAME Inc.

Duraman is a trademark owned by GAME Inc. and will be a series of duathlon races with the organizers looking into having three legs for the year.
The first one on June 15 will start and end at the new Toledo City Hall located in Barangay Ilihan with gunstart at 5 a.m.
It will have two distances—the Standard which will have racers negotiating a 10-kilometer run, a 40-K bike and 5K run; and the Sprint which has a 5K run, 20K bike and end with a 2.5K run.
The Sprint, instead of having age-group categories, will have the Roadbike/Tribike, Mountainbike and Folding Bike categories.
The Standard, on the other hand, will be an Open category which means participants can either use a roadbike, a mountainbike or a folding bike. It will also have two divisions—the Men’s and Women’s Open.
Ceballos said this is done to encourage the participation of newbies and the weekend warriors.
Mil said this is a “draft legal race” except that it will not be allowed for opposite sex.
Registration fee for the Standard distance is pegged at P1,600 while P1,400 is pegged for the Sprint distance.
This event is in partnership with SugbuTriathlon so aside from registering at the Rudy Project store in Ayala, those interested can also register online via sugbutriathlon.com.
Deadline of Registration will be on June 10, however, those who won’t be able to catch the deadline will still be able to register on race day itself as the organizer will be having an on-site registration.
Race briefing and number tattooing will be done at The Ranch Resort on June 14, 4 p.m. For accommodations and transportation within Toledo City, participants can coordinate with Ian Presnido.
The event is sponsored by The Ranch Resort, Azia Hotel & Residences, Three of Me, 92.3 Magic FM, Baan Khun Thai Spa and the Toledo City government.
Only the Standard distance will get cash prizes with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd in both Men and Women’s Open getting P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000, respectively.
Mil said they decided to hold the first Duraman in Toledo to help the city in its thrust for tourism.
“Toledo has very good roads and we are helping promote it as a sports tourism spot,” Mil said.
