The DanceSport Team Cebu City (DTCC) is committed to spreading the benefits of DanceSport in the southern Philippines, and elevating the level of skill of DanceSport athletes in the region. The Team organizes free Dancesport workshops and follow-through trainings regularly in Cebu City’s 80 barangays including the remote mountainous areas. This is made possible by the untiring and selfless efforts of dance teacher-volunteers.
The Team also organizes DanceSport sa Sugbu, a competition for a cause that serves as the culmination activity of hundreds of child trainees (mostly under-privileged) who were given regular free training. DanceSport sa Sugbu entitles the barangay child trainees a first-hand experience of taking part in a professionally-officiated dance competition. The exposure will instill in them self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-worth. This experience will inspire the children to train harder and aspire for a better future.
Dancesport sa Sugbu is touted to be the “Friendliest Competition in the World”, likewise DanceSport Team Cebu City is the Guinness World Record Holder for World’s Largest Dance Class of 7,770 participants.
