Ateneo de Cebu (ADC), Liloan FC and ERCO Bosco have taken the top spot in their respective divisions after winning their first elimination matches in yesterday’s start of the 3rd BRO Nationals Football Cup at the football fields of the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC).

ADC is the current leader in the Under 13 (U13) after routing Inayawan FC, 8-0.

The elementary team of the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVRAA) trailed in second place with a 7-1 win over DBTC.

Although both ADC and CVRAA Team have three points each equivalent to one win, ADC takes the top spot owing to its goal difference (GD) of eight. The CVRAA Team has a goal difference of six points.

In the U18, Liloan FC takes the top spot with a 10-0 annihilation of Alegria FC.

Following closely in the second spot is the secondary CVRAA Team who pulled past DBTC, 4-1.

Just like in the U13, both Liloan FC and the CVRAA Team hold three points apiece but Liloan takes the top spot by virtue of its 10 points in GD. The CVRAA Team has 3.

In the Men’s Open, ERCO Bosco settles at the top with a 2-0 blanking of Airlifters FC.

Airlifters FC was supposed to face the Cebu Queen City United FC but the latter pulled out of the tournament at the last minute due to lack of players.

In the other match, University of Cebu (UC) Nigeria was not able to capitalize on its winning performance in the recently-concluded 16th Aboitiz Football Cup as it ended its match against ERCO FC Samareño in a 1-all stalemate.

Instead of grouping the teams, organizers have decided to let them play in a single round robin format with the top two teams advancing to the finals this Friday.
