Mactan Island Golf Club (MIGC) hosts the 15th Island Tee on November 12 to 15 at its par-72 layout inside the BGEN Benito Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City.
This is the club’s annual signature event where the members will get a chance to invite guests from other courses to be their partner of the four-day, 36-hole competition.
The Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used and teams will be required to play two rounds within the four-day period.
Entry fee for the event is pegged at Php 4,000 per player. Each participant will be entitled to a pair of FootJoy golf shoes as tournament giveaway. A dinner and a retro-themed awards ceremony will be held on Sunday where several prizes will be raffled off.
In order to prepare the course for the event, MIGC will be closed on Wednesday for the final preparations of the grounds.
At stake for a hole-in-one will be a Hyundai i10, a golf cart, a set of Cobra irons, a Skygo motorcycle, Php 100,000 worth of no-cashable chips from PAGCOR, plus the par-3 special offering of the club. These prizes will be assigned to specific holes during the tournament and in case more than one player will score an ace on a particular hole, the prizes at stake on that hole will be equally shared.
More than a chance to showcase the latest improvements of the course and for participants to meet new and old friends, this tournament is also held to help raise funds or the Golf Development Program of the club that includes the junior golf program of MIGC.
