10th Amo Cup tees off Friday


The 10th Albino D. Gothong Memorial Golf Tournament also known as the Amo Cup tees off on Friday and Saturday at the Cebu Country Club.
This will be a two-day, 18-hole event using the strokeplay format. The June handicaps under the Unified National Handicapping System (UNHS) will be applied.
Entry fee for the event is pegged at Php 2,000 for members of the host club as well as those of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.
Those who are not a member of either club will be assessed Php 3,000.

All participants will be receiving a smart watch as well as giveaways from FWD Insurance, AD Gothong Manufacturing, Prifood, and Profoods.
The event, which aims to raise funds for the Alpa Foundation, is presented by AD Gothong Manufacturing/Bambi, FWD Insurance, and Global Star Motors. Major backers are PSACC, Gothong Southern Shipping, Wilmar Edible Oils Phils., Inc., Ideal Builders Development Corp., Visayan Surety & Insurance Corp., and Cebu Landmasters Inc.
At stake for a hole-in-one will be a Mercedes Benz A180. The designated holes for the prizes will be announced at the venue.
A SkyGo motorcycle is also at stake for an eagle on any par-4 hole.
In case more than one player scores a hole-in-one or eagle, the prizes will be equally shared.
Participants will be classified under three handicap categories for the men and there will also be a division for the seniors (55 years old and above), ladies, and juniors (17 years old and below).
Prizes will be given to the overall lowest gross, overall lowest net as well as the gross champion and top three for the net of the different divisions.
The awards ceremony will be held at the ballroom of Cebu Country Club on Saturday night.
Mulligans will be sold at Php 500 each and this would allow the player an extra shot each on the front and back nine.
